Digital Art Week (DAW) is a new art initiative comprised of six events to be held throughout several venues in London. The exhibition aims to provide a platform for artists in the NFT and metaverse areas, pledging to “digital art to the masses through a week of awe-inspiring displays, talks, and live events.”

The exhibition began November 3rd with the Digital Art Week Launch Party, which featured some works from the collections of 33NFT & The Medici Collection, including the grails of the crypto and digital art movements. “The exhibition has been curated to showcase up-and-coming digital artists, as well as some of the leaders in the space,” says an online statement.

The new Outernet venue located on Tottenham Court Road will be one of the main venues for the week. This is where Smashtoshi collective will present Artists to Watch on November 6th with exhibiting artists including Deekay, Hackatao, Paul Milinksi, and Defaced.

On November 8th, the Verse exhibition at Cromwell Place in South Kensington will explore the “subject of gesture in digital art practice.” It will feature pieces from the Metaversal collection, including works by Tyler Hobbs, Casey Rease, Sofia Crespo, and Mathias Isaksen. Metaversal is an organization that invests in NFTs, artists, and entrepreneurial projects, stating on their website that they co-produce, “NFT projects by connecting our capital to builders across the creative spectrum”.

At W1 Curates on Oxford Street through November 10th, digital artist Andrés Reisinger and film director Sam Mason present ANY DAY NOW. A site-specific public art installation, the new digital work is “reflecting on life’s cycle and everything that happens in between”

Digital Art Week 2022 is presented by six partners, including the crypto art giant Cozmo de’ Medici and Outlier Ventures, which helps fun Web3 start-ups.“With regards to funding, the project has been launched by Smashtoshi, a collective with a focus on bringing the world’s best digital art to the public. In addition to art curated by Smashtoshi, Cozomo de’ Medici and [the digital art collector] 33NFT have contributed their collections to be on show. W1 Curates, Outernet, and various other venues have provided space for this to be possible,” a project spokesperson stated.

The exhibition runs from November 3rd through November 10th and all events are free; tickets will be allocated by lottery and the winners will be notified via email. Further editions of the exhibition are planned for New York, Paris, Miami, Lisbon, Seoul, and Tokyo.
